Woodcut printed in brown on thin, pale cream wove paper, circa 1935. 457x432 mm; 18x17 inches, 1/2- to 3/4- inch margins. Signed (partial) in pencil, lower margin. A very good impression of this extremely scarce print.
Provenance: the estate of Holcha Krake; by descent to her grandniece, Johanna Voll.
We have located only two other impressions - a signed impression, handcolored with watercolor, is in the collection of the Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division, Washington, DC, and another very similar proof, with the same cropped signature, in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
