Seddon, recommending that Lieutenant Jules Rondot of the French Army be appointed Captain, and sending a letter [not present] from General Lee "who is quite willing to find for him service with the Army of the Potomac . . . ." With Seddon's four-line Autograph Endorsement Signed on the verso: "If this appointment has not been already made nominate as asked and order to report to Genl R.E.
