A beautifully hand-colored album with 66 views of Japanese cities, the landscape, agriculture, and small towns, as well as just a couple occupational views, including the Farsari & Co. title page with a collaged set of images. Hand-colored albumen prints, each measuring approximately 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, all with a caption, in English, and an inventory number in the negative, foxing near the front and rear of the volume; with the original tissue guards, most torn. Oblong folio, red lacquer covers with 2 elegant birds and a tree; leather backstrip, worn; all edges gilt. 1890s
